The one with the friends and the chai tao kway thiefHello world. If you haven't heard, I screwed up my sortie 6. It all started with the briefing. Apparently Instrutor R think I wasnt prepared enough. I thought I was, just that I didnt memorize word for word, the way he wanted it. So yeah, stepped out to do external checks and I was feeling like shit alr. And Mistake no 1: I forgot to on the bloody fuel cock. And then I tried to go start the engine. So he asked me if I could really start the engine and keep it going. He asked 3 times and I answered 'YA' 3 times. Damn then I saw the bloody fuel cock offed. Mistake no 2: After I was done with the external checks, I did my pre start checks without checking that my flaps were UP. I dont know how I managed to miss that. Mistake no 3: I was taxying so fast that I almost overshot the line at holding point. So he stepped in to brake and I tio kan liao. Mistake no 4: the freaking RT. I have never been told to 'hold' and 'standby' so many times that I had a hard time hearing and replying them. It didnt help that the guy was mumbling to himself. Well surprisingly he was 'satisfied' with my RT. Mistake no 5: This was the most serious mistake. I was given control to do departure procedures after he took off and I was all over the place. Was flying everywhere except where I was supposed to be.
So end up when we finnaly got to Area Bravo, there was very poor visibility and no horizon. So he asked me if I wanna do this another time. I jumped at that suggestion and just agreed. Too many things have happened for me to fly properly. He would probably have to phase me out. So yeah, knew he was giving me a chance. I just cnt believe I made those mistakes in my checks when I did them perfectly the previous time. Not flying for 3 weeks is deadly man. So glad for this DNCO. But the debrief sheet with every single of my mistakes written down is so so so ugly.
ARGH.
Today went down to yfc to practise on the SIM. As usual Enson and I were there, ready to pounce on the SIM when there's no one using.. Managed to do about 30 min of departure, climbing descending, turning. Oh yeah I saw the handsome picture of our dearest Dewitt in the Newpaper yesterday. I showed it to Enson and Yunhui today. Haha we were complaining that he was deserting us and leaving us orphans to be phased out by other instructors. He's away in Australia and wont be back till Sat. I dunt want to fly with anyone but him la.. bleah....
Sigh I dunno why but I am missing my friends. My real friends. I have been thinking of them the past few days... So I am glad that I will be meeting Hao and Daryl this sat and maybe Jy. I specially went to cancel booking for weekend today okay.... Okay holy shit. I just remember its my ah gong's birthday this Sat and I gotta go for dinner. Oh shit. Damn. Alamak. Say byebye to movie and dinner plans. So anyway ya, I have been thinking of them more than ever after Sat night when Daryl and Jy came over for mahjong. After we played like till 7am? The 3 of us squeezed onto my super single bed and started talking about our crazy sec sch life. Our main topic was Miss Lai, Miss Lai and Miss Lai. Haha, I miss her too. So yakked yakked and all 3 of us actually fell asleep. With limbs, body parts and hair all over the place.. Lol.
And no one is a bigger joker than Jy la. That idiot actually bought $5 chai tao kuay to bring to my hse and was waiting for a bus. Then some smart aleck actually boarded the bus WITHOUT the precious chai tao kway and had to alight and take another bus back to retrieve the delicious food, which was, by that time, gone already! Wth la, who will steal a suspicious looking packet of food lying at a bus stop...
OKIE I finally found some kinda job. The first in this holiday. But its only for 2 days only. I am going to JY's company and put letters into envelopes and get paid $6 per hour. Hahaha, senseless but profitable job I know. I am just a little scared of paper cuts thats all. But hey, dont say no to moolah.
Gonna bathe and get ready to go watch Singapore vs Lebanon! C'mon cheer for the lions! Even though they play like bull crap sometimes...
